Life is a long, wondrous and continuous introduction to yourself.

The act of creation — it leads me to unknown places. Only to make me realize that all was known, always. And yet, I live every day with the hope that I’ll explore, create and grow into someone new. Because what’s life if not a long, wondrous and continuous introduction to yourself.

In this journey, music lives by my side. I find melody in my writing, and a lot of writing in my melodies. Sometimes, I hear songs in the bubbles of boiling tamarind water. Or in the stroke of red paint over the canvas. Or in the giggles of a child after a good joke. Tunes find their way even into my boredom, curiosity and the thoughts in between. And a rhythm taps into my sorrow, so it can take the leap to laughter.

Such is music. Such is life — yours and mine.

Hello!

Everything penguinly possible...

Happy Feet is an awesomely cute flick! Great voice overs and hummable music and if i were to talk about hang-overs , i wanna learn tap-dancing now :)

Catch it anytime!

Unexpectedly and totally unforeseen , i went for a supposedly blues concert by a band from Shillong called Soulmates. The female voice is the life of the band and the guitar sound is powerful. But hello...were not you supposed to play blues stuff..?? Other than few jazz -y songs in the beginning .. i still dont know why they had to shift to rock!(although the obvious reason was to cater to the new-year mood)

But the evening was fun for a change.. after this , no hard drinks (few sips are always permitted ;)) and for a change, i attended the whole show standing at the bar counter (there was a cover charge of 1500 bucks for taking a seat :|)! This came with a nice generally missed observation yesterday! I was closely watching the bar-tenders and it looked like a lot of fun ..no wonder so many folks wanna do it, and one of my show-mates suddenly came up with the want to learn cocktail-ing!Was like a big deja-vu..heh!

I have just begun to listen to some of the jazz stuff (miles davis and Pat Metheny).. so my comments on the show are not important and looking at what they ended up playing.. They were good but not what i went for!

update: Some wrong notions led to the disappointment. Still digging through how blues and jazz differ and yet go together.

The drive back home was the weirdest ever.. I actually went blind and did not know if steering the car made any sense! Talk about fogs..whew!

I dont wanna do the new year rantings... if i still had to... well... what will i blog about then :P !
