Life is a long, wondrous and continuous introduction to yourself.

The act of creation — it leads me to unknown places. Only to make me realize that all was known, always. And yet, I live every day with the hope that I’ll explore, create and grow into someone new. Because what’s life if not a long, wondrous and continuous introduction to yourself.

In this journey, music lives by my side. I find melody in my writing, and a lot of writing in my melodies. Sometimes, I hear songs in the bubbles of boiling tamarind water. Or in the stroke of red paint over the canvas. Or in the giggles of a child after a good joke. Tunes find their way even into my boredom, curiosity and the thoughts in between. And a rhythm taps into my sorrow, so it can take the leap to laughter.

Such is music. Such is life — yours and mine.

Hello!

Cooking Culinary Disasters ;)

I have cooked very less in the past few months...and it actually was for the Social Well-being because the times i did..i have let down folks so badly, that it created some dish-scares.

Like , when i had made Gobhi Manchurian for my sister's birthday, thinking that it would rock as it did before.. the aftermaths of the delicacy were something like this:

Miss/Mr X/Y/Z : Hey, am coming to your place..Making something?
Me: Oh sure! What do you like?
Miss/Mr X/Y/Z : Everything except gobhi manchurian

:|

Some two weeks back, i thought of taking over the Saturday Lunch and decided to make the much loved Vetta Kozhambu, the disaster it was, dad said "If i were to close my eyes, i can easily assume its tamarind rice!' :|

Enough was enough..I made up for it today!

According to local comments, the dinner rocked..yay!

Well, this one is more to rant about that red stuff, Tomato Chutney, i would not refer to any recipe because simply what mom made ever is un-matched!

During one of my school trips, the whole train compartment was booked by my school-troupe. Mom had given one bottle filled with the chutney, some chapatis and curd-rice. I took a spoon on my plate and just passed it to the nearby mate to taste...Guess what,  the bottle went through some 30 odd seats and went empty and still there were people expecting to lick some..heh!

At that time, i thought , may be it has some real complicated recipe behind it to be so delicious. But soon discovered that it actually was the simplest taste 'n' tommy filling stuff!

I have previously made this a lot and thankfully never managed to spoil it :)

Recipe Revealed:

- Some real red tomatoes, red-chilli powder, cumin seeds, methi(seeds), til-oil (coriander leaves is optional for exaggerated effects ;))
- Chop the tomatoes
- Put some 2 tablespoon oil for 6 normal sized tomatoes and heat
- Put cumin seeds and let them pop, add the methi dana
- Put a teaspoon of red-chilli powder (you may add small green chillis as well for more spice)
- Put the tomatoes , add salt and mix well
- Let the tomatoes cook till it starts leaving oil (the aroma actually is a good indicator )

Only the cooking takes sometime, but the output is so ironical to the simple cooking! Yummm!

Coming back to my dinner today, the other dish is Arahar Dal (I still am not meeting my own standards but still was relatively damn good)

After a long time, my food lifted up some people's moods and all :)
