FOOD
I have been doing a lot of random hopping to various food joints in the past few months with no concrete opinions on any of the outlets and most of them were a medium to run away from the monotony of the work life...
But last week had been to this place called LIDO DINERS in Connaught Place. One of those multi-existing resto-bars but soothing interiors... I loved the ambience though the momo sauce left me burning and spoilt my chinese night out!
This should come later but i had after a long time some real nice coffee at one of the unexpected places.
VIOLIN CLASS and MY FIRST PUBLIC TRANSPORT EXPERIENCE IN DELHI AFTER 2.5 years!
Finally, my would be/could be violin teacher was caught on the phone this sunday when he asked me to meet him the next day which incidently happened to be an auspicious day and specially meant to begin any new learning. So, pleased my mom!
He happens to be staying far off and my parents had to keep the car for some purpose. Anycase, the sun was keeping very happy that day , so driving 20km in broad scorching day light was worth not considering. Decided i would take the public mode i.e the METRO rail which was the fastest option.
I used to commute in the metro in the last year of my college tenure on the first lines opened for public. There was a whole lot of hype and i would find atleast a couple of families taking the train just for the sake of a joy ride. Add to that, one of the days, there was a whole junior class gang from a school specially having their picnic on metro rails..heh!
Thought things would have changed..but naah....dilli waalas find ways to kill time anyhow... some 15 odd people were taking one of the longest lines just for fun that too, to and fro summing up to 2 hrs! heh!
I had a hard time reaching the place as it took me 2 hrs against a calculated 55 minutes journey..courtesy some false assumptions and little mis-guiding.
Earlier during my college time, i had a tiff with one of my classmates as her parents tried to sneak in her brother (young) one one token(purely for fun)..At that time, the token system had been kept to reduce manual intervention while filtering commuters...But alas, security people had to be posted in every entry to regulate such acts... So, here i had the khaki folks checking my stuff...I had my instrument with me...so they had a gala time trying to play nice while asking all sorta questions...
At one of the gates, the guy went like:
'Madam, aapko iske saath andar aane kaise diya?'
(i wanted this the least at that hour...)
i said 'Kyon?'
'Nahi, bina bajaye to hum jaane nahi denge' :|
Yeah..right...'Agar bajaya to aap hamein kabhi nahi rokenge :P'
Though i was terribly late, considering it was a busy day for any teacher...i liked travelling with all the crowd.. with bits of entertainment now and then :) In any case, whatever gives my physical energy a little outlet is rejuvenating(considering i have an exagerrated level of burning capacity)
(wish i had a life where i could keep travelling and get work on calls... its suffocating to sit at one place for 9-12 hrs.. )
Took some pictures too which i am refraining from posting as i know photography is objectionable at metro.
- Other than the general temperament of the localites which rarely changes, METRO happens to be one of the nicest changes that has happened for delhites..Extremely well maintained in terms of keeping it spic and span ..
- The audio system can be improved on as when it g
ets crowded, its difficult to hear the station indications
Well...i reached the place...
Played some random stuff which sounded like Malahari and then followed by mohanam ... I was accepted as a student , wonder why...all that i played , he replayed and i was laughing at my own TEOISM!
But there is a whole lot of confusion around whether i will do justice to both music and myself with the current state of affairs!
MOVIE TIME
The same evening , i went for this movie DOR at PVR PLAZA...
From PLAZA to PVR PLAZA...hmmmm....amazing metamorphism... and this is where i had the bestest coffee in an year now... I thought i had lost the taste for it given the crap i have in office and baristas and CCDs everywhere...nothing tasted different..even home-made filter coffee at time tasted a little less than a disaster!!
But slurp.... :)
And for the movie...it begins on a slow note..which might bore all for close to 20-25 minutes but what follows is beautiful and worth watching.
Hats off to both Gul Panag(whose voice i hated initially but realised no-one and nothing else would have been more justified) and Ayesha Takia ..(now i know why the world goes gaga over this female)
Shreyas talpade is the entertainment rescue when things get a little dull!
Needless to say, the movie is different and a non-cliche..what nagesh's movies are set out to be! :)
