Life is a long, wondrous and continuous introduction to yourself.

The act of creation — it leads me to unknown places. Only to make me realize that all was known, always. And yet, I live every day with the hope that I’ll explore, create and grow into someone new. Because what’s life if not a long, wondrous and continuous introduction to yourself.

In this journey, music lives by my side. I find melody in my writing, and a lot of writing in my melodies. Sometimes, I hear songs in the bubbles of boiling tamarind water. Or in the stroke of red paint over the canvas. Or in the giggles of a child after a good joke. Tunes find their way even into my boredom, curiosity and the thoughts in between. And a rhythm taps into my sorrow, so it can take the leap to laughter.

Such is music. Such is life — yours and mine.

Hello!

when there is nothing else to do ..

I have been extremely bored of blogging lately..blame it on not many major happenings or the dead mental state ... but this goes for the second promised long post where in i pen down few of the things i have been doing in the past week and all the unreported times!

Work is sad...makes me go brain dead most of the times...So, i had to find a way to keep it alive somehow and what better than music....

MUSIC___________

As i wait for my guru to return, i decided to go through all my learnings once again to refine my learnings and refresh my memory along with making good use of my sleeping violin ( i have not still managed a teacher :()

I am going through every song i had learnt from the simplest and breaking the words into notes and cross checking them on the violin! (btw my violin playing is still as sad...infact the learnt stuff is rusting too)

There is a strange euphoria when the note-breaking is perfect when checked! (preparing an online copy of my music book!) Though i had decided on one composition every day but the unforeseen hindrances have made me manage only two!
(One in sumanapriya and other in ragam bangla)

And yes, last evening i finally hopped to the nearest Planet M and grabbed 3 CDs and some other random purchases too!!

- Mandolin U.Srinivas - purchase attributed to over exposure to  sunson's blogs :|
- A violin compilation of Dr L.Subramanian , Stephane Grapelli and Lord Yehudi Menuhin -- This was a risky purchase as i hadnot heard the foreign jazz players ..I was fascinated by Dr L.Subramanian's compositions since the day i had heard the title music of Spirit Of Unity Concerts on doordarshan...

some 4 months back i had bought a collection of Dr L.Subramanian from crossword and when i heard it, i couldnot relate to his music somehow ... i just did not understand... i am not sure if this impact makes sense but it was one day of Pat Metheny's jazz music which made me smile at the purchase i thought was futile!! good good! :)

- A shubha mudgal classical rendetion (still to be heard)

And yeah..i bought this too!!

FOOD______________

As ronaldphilip needs to see this...i have been hopping around delhi burning pockets and deliberately forcing an increased appetite..

Had been to EK ROTI DO BOTI , PEBBLE STREET , VILLAGE CAFE , MOCHA , 4S , BIG CHILL , SPAGHETTI CAFE , MOET'S SIZZLERS and some more may be i am forgetting! :)

ERDB : Opened newly near shivaji stadium, has a normal indian cuisine but a chinese place near it has to be checked out!

PEBBLE STREET : It reminded me of toons in Pune just a little sophisticated. New Friend's colony is one area that needs to be explored thorougly! Here are my pics of the place!

VILLAGE CAFE : Near sirifort, this complex has some upmarket restaurants but the one i went in , Colors and spice, was a huge disappointment .. infact i rarely leave with a starter and i literally ran away...to be truthful, the music kicked me out :||

BIG CHILL : All those who love pastas and some nice desserts , need to check this out! Generally you have to wait as the place is small..but should be worth it!

CAFE SPAGHETTI : At defence colony, this place serves some nice thai dishes! I liked it but somebody i suggested couldnot stand the odour inside!

Moet's sizzlers: Very poplular but was a disappointment for me. No new sizzling dishes , very typical sizzlers! A little decked for a normal eat out!

MOCHAA!!! Aah!! For the love of coffee and the psychedelic effect...perrrrrrrfect!! The one at GK...slurp and soothing! very! Just apt for a relaxing evening and useless chats :D! I had been to the one in mumbai near juhu also ... but i found this one more appealing..specially if you dont want a lot of crowd to bother you...the part in the basement is just right! ( i am not adding links as did not find anything appropriate!)

Thats it for food
burp
:)

OTHERWISE______________

Other than the musical exercise if anything keeps me alive .. its the little time i steal even during office hours to work towards my future plans...
Human interactions have reduced like never before...a strange state of becoming an introvert i never have been ... at times its comfortable but most of the other times it pushes me to useless thinking and unwanted contemplation!

But friends pop up at times to make things a little different .. a close friend from IISc visited last weekend .. it triggered a whole meet with my college group called the 10Trumps!! :)

Watched skeleton key
I found the movie pretty interesting for the smart suspence it carried!! Other than that, my pal is scarier than any scary flick :P

btw, if you are still reading this , any tips to nurture PATIENCE?? Just a random thought....
